Founded in 2016, Jiminny is a dynamic, fast-growing startup revolutionising the way sales teams operate. Position Overview:
As our Financial Controller you will be responsible for operational finance & reporting at Jiminny. You will need to be a hands-on manager, ready to roll up your sleeves and get involved in all day-to-day activities, whilst also being able to ensure quality of output, lead a small team and manage competing deadlines.

Why join Jiminny:
Innovative Environment: Be part of a cutting-edge company transforming the sales industry.
Growth Opportunities: Play a key role in shaping the future of Jiminny and advancing your career.
Collaborative Culture: Work with a passionate and supportive team dedicated to excellence.
Flexibility: Enjoy the benefits of a remote and flexible work environment.
Your focus in the role:
You will be responsible for all of our finance systems, processes and controls, including month, quarter and year ends, ensuring data is accurate and the quality of work across the board is high. You will need to be determined and focused, able to keep in mind the big picture whilst being deep in the weeds of the day-to-day.
As the Financial Controller you will report directly to the Finance Director and work alongside our Finance Manager and Finance Assistant.
What you’ll be responsible for:
Own and manage the group consolidation process, monthly, quarterly and year-end management reporting processes, ensuring data is accurate and deadlines are met . This will involve a substantial amount of ‘doing’ plus some reviewing.
Lead the audit, statutory accounts preparation and UK CT return work (in conjunction with external advisors) and ensure this is completed in a timely manner post year-end.
Assist the Finance Director with the R&D tax credit and US tax return work, with the aim of taking ownership of this over time.
Manage our Bulgarian accountants including setting deadlines and ensuring the subsidiary is adequately funded.
Own UK payroll.
Partner with other departments where needed for day to day operations.
Manage all banking relationships and requirements.
Oversight of cashflow management.
Essential Requirements:
Qualified accountant (ideally ACA/ CA) ideally 5+ years PQE. The amount of PQE is less important than the ability to build relationships across the business as a trusted partner, lead the more junior team members with integrity and empathy, and adapt and flex to competing and changing priorities.
Experience of working in both practice (as client-facing - ideally in a large accounting firm) and industry. Industry experience should include the areas listed in the responsibilities section above.
Responsive, self-motivated, organised and efficient. We need someone who will push ahead to get things done and who genuinely cares about doing a good job and supporting their team-mates and the company.
Hands-on approach with a strong operational focus and attention to detail.
Strong communicator - Finance is a remote team, so you will need to be able to leverage your communication skills to build relationships, ensure efficiency and work cohesively across the business.
Strong with Excel and/or Google Sheets.
Other Requirements:
These aren’t a deal-breaker but would make you stand out from the crowd:
Experience using both Xero and Maxio
SaaS experience
Financial modelling expertise
Systems transformation experience
Experience either as an auditor, or as the lead in the company being audited
What You’ll Get From Us:
Competitive base salary.
Flexible and remote working options.
Birthday day off.
Summer Fridays (work 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., July–September).
Extra PTO days for service milestones.
CycleToWork™ scheme.
A fantastic culture you can help shape and develop.
Private medical insurance.
Application Process: If you think you might be a good fit we would love to hear from you. Please send your resume and a cover letter outlining your qualifications and how you meet the requirements for the Financial Controller role at Jiminny.
